wearing underwear Many boys wore union suits during the 1920s and 1930s as did their fathers. In many places the lack of central heating made them really ncessary. Boys\'s union suits usually had three-button drop seats in the back whereas men\'s suits normally had button-flaps, but in other respects they were very much the same. These particular models have no waist features, i.e., no buttons around the waist for attachment of short trousers or knickers and no garter tabs for hose supporters. If boys wore long stockings with these suits, they need additional garter waists. Regular union suits were made for boys up to at least sixteen years of age, or even eighteen. Waist suits, however, were usually made for boys up to about thirteen.
